About project
Aims of the Promotion of Science Online project:
- facilitating access to information on the achievements of the Polish and world science via the Internet
- presentation of research conducted within the framework of the Regional Innovation Strategy and the Operational Programmes
- development of R&D system staff qualifications and improving the awareness of the role of science in economic growth
- proposing measures to promote equal opportunities in science
Project target groups:
- staff of research units
- employees of entities cooperating with entities operating in the R&D sector (e.g. enterprises, universities) within information measures
- students
The project will provide a modern scientific social portal which will include the initiatives to promote the Polish and world science. It will also offer its users an opportunity to communicate and exchange information.
Scientific Portal will include:
- The online broadcast of three two-day scientific conferences envisaged within the framework of the project.
- Reviewed scientific articles form users. The logged users will also be able to insert information about other interesting scientific articles.
- Minimum of four e-learning courses available to portal users. The topics of the courses include: the promotion of science, the importance of research and its use in industry, creating spin-offs, equal opportunities in science. After consulting the project team, the users can also create their own e-learning courses.
- 15 foreign translations of scientific articles, research reports and scripts on trends and achievements of the world science.
- Database of job offers for science and economy. Offers can also be submitted by the portal users.
- Database of spin-offs and spin-ins, broken down by province.
- Database of research activities within the framework of the Regional Innovation Strategy and the Operational Programmes.
- Module to establish cooperation between the staff of scientific institutions, universities and stakeholders in R & D.
- Opportunity for the users to create their own science blogs on which they will be able to present information about themselves, their business and scientific achievements.
The project also envisages:
- 3 two-day scientific conferences devoted to the achievements of the Polish and world science with the participation of foreign scientists. Successful participants will be able to benefit from free accommodation and meals. The results of the conferences include three reviewed post-conference publications.
- 5 seminars in the eastern Polish provinces covering the following areas: the popularisation of the Polish and global science, commercialization of knowledge and equal opportunities in science.
- 6 periodical, interdisciplinary Scientific Journals in the on-line and printed versions. These publications will include peer-reviewed articles dealing with the achievements of the Polish and world science and the role of science in economic development. The authors of the best articles will receive the financial reward provided for in the project budget.
- 3 editions of the competition for the best: MA, BA and engineering theses within the following domains: knowledge transfer - the commercialization of science for economic purposes, the application of science in economic development, cooperation within the R & D system, the presentation of achievements of the Polish and world science. Each year the winners of the contest for the best: MA, engineering and BA theses will be given an award in the form of publication of their papers in the printed version.
